Tortilla Throwing Incident At California High School Sparks Outrage 6/23/21

Players from a Southern California high school basketball team are under investigation from school officials after throwing tortillas at the opposing team after a post-season win. NBC News’ Guad Venegas spoke to some of the players, coaches and parents about why they say the incident was racially motivated.

Coronado’s head basketball coach, JD Laaperi, was fired after tortillas were thrown at the team’s predominantly Hispanic opponents after a championship game.
