Torey Lanez arrested over the weekend for gun incident with Megan Thee Stallion

Details are emerging in the case of R&B singer/rapper Tory Lanez who was arrested on a gun charge in Hollywood Hills on Sunday (7/12),. According to TMZ, police responded to a “disturbance” around 4:30 AM, and when officers arrived, “witnesses reported people were arguing in an SUV before someone fired shots in the air … and the vehicle took off.”

Lanez and others including Megan Thee Stallion were at a a house party in the Hollywood hills when the incident occurred. Lanez, whose birth name is Daystar Peterson, was arrested around 4:30 a.m. and charged with carrying a concealed weapon in his vehicle. Stallion, whose real name is Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, sustained a glass wound to her foot at the party and was a passenger in Lanez’s vehicle when he was arrested a short distance from the party. According to TMZ, police listed Stallion as a “victim” in the incident, and she was treated at a hospital for wounds to her foot immediately following Lanez’s arrest.

Lanez was booked for having a concealed firearm in a vehicle. Pitchfork also reports that Lanez posted $35,000 bail and was released on Sunday according to online records, and that his next court date is Tuesday, October 13, 2020.
