Jake Gardner, the man charged in James Scurlock death, has died by suicide
We recently reported that a Grand Jury brought in an indictment on white bar owner Jake Gardner in the Shooting Death of James Scurlock, today it appears as though Gardner has died by suicide.
Police in Oregon released the following information: “At about 12:20 p.m., Hillsboro Police Department officers responded to the 300 block of Southeast Ninth Avenue after a body was found outside a medical clinic. They discovered 38-year-old Jacob Gardner of Omaha, Nebraska, dead.”
Jake Gardner was charged him with attempted first-degree assault, weapon use, making terroristic threats and manslaughter for the May 30, 2020 shooting death of 22-year-old James Scurlock in Omaha Nebraska. The grand jury rejected the Omaha businessman’s claim that he was acting in self-defense when he shot James Scurlock during protests five days after the death of George Floyd.
