Chicago gangs form pact to SHOOT on SIGHT any officer drawing his/her weapon on any subject
The FBI’s Chicago office sent out an alert warning nearly three dozen street gangs have formed a pact to target CPD officers.
An FBI alert released to Chicago officials warns of a pact among 36 gangs, including the Latin Kings and Vice Lords, El Rukns and Black P Stones, stating”members of these gang factions have been actively searching for, and filming, police officers in performance of their official duties,. “The purpose of which is to catch on film an officer drawing his/her weapon on any subject and the subsequent ‘shoot on-sight’ of said officer.
‘We have been made aware of this threat by a law enforcement partner,’ a CPD spokesperson said Tuesday. ‘The Chicago Police Department takes all threats against officer safety seriously and we will take all necessary measures to safeguard our officers.’
Two Chicago police officers were shot while conducting a traffic stop in the city over the weekend, but it’s unknown whether that attack has any connection to the FBI’s warning.
