Black officer Eugene Goodman hailed as a hero for leading Capitol rioters away from lawmakers(video)

Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman is being called a hero after he led rioters away from the Senate chamber before the doors were locked.

Footage of the officer, identified as Eugene Goodman, shows him just steps ahead of rioters as they chase him up a flight of stairs. Mr Goodman is then seen glancing toward the Senate entrance before luring the men in the opposite direction. Five people, including a police officer, died as a result of the riots. ( bbc)
Goodman, armed with a baton, pushes the leader of the pack, a man wearing a black QAnon shirt later identified as Doug Jensen from Des Moines. Jensen was focused on Goodman and appeared not to notice the open hallway leading to the Senate chambers. Jensen chased Goodman, who led him and the mob away from the Senate floor. The group, all white men, followed the Black officer into a group of police in a back corridor outside the Senate.(Usa Today)
